Joey started in the business in 1995 at Bidwell and Company, a small discount brokerage in Portland, OR. He worked in the dividends and reorganization department and learned the back-office operations of trading and stock clearing. Joey’s passion for trading led him to Pacific Crest securities in 1996, where he was hired as a market maker for several Pacific Northwest Banks. He worked at Pacific Crest until 1999, learning the business and building relationships. In late 1999, Joey left Pacific Crest to start a trading desk in Portland for Wedbush Securities. It was here that he built one of the more active bank market-making desks in the country and continued to develop long term relationships with banks, individual investors, and professional investors. In 2007 Joey, moved his trading and investment business to become a partner at Seattle-based McAdams Wright Ragen. He navigated through the Great Recession and was able to come through it stronger than ever, continuing to grow his client and banking relationships. Joey’s business was instrumental in the overall success of McAdams Wright Ragen and their eventual sale to R.W. Baird in 2014. It was at MWR that Joey met Tom Thiel and formed a great partnership. After the sale to Baird, Joey decided to move his business back to Wedbush Securities in 2014 and operated there until 2019, continuing to be one of the more active community bank investors and market makers.

Joey has always had a passion for investing and the markets. Scouring spreadsheets and hunting for value in community banks is a hobby of his. He also deeply values his relationships with clients and has made many long-time friends.

Joey grew up in Grandview, a rural community in central Washington State. He learned the value of hard work at an early age, working on local farms. Joey also helped lead his high school basketball team to a 53-1 record his junior and senior years and helping them win back-to-back state championships. This led to a full basketball scholarship at Washington State University. He was team captain his senior season and finished his MBA in Finance. Joey has been married to his wife, Rebecca Warmenhoven, for 24 years and has two daughters, Ashley 19, and Emily 15. He has been a resident of West Linn, Oregon, for the last 20 years.

Tom started in the business in 2007 at an investment advising firm, CTC Consulting Inc. His role as an advisory representative was to interview fund managers, write research summaries and create investment reports for clients. He has worked as a NASDAQ Market Maker/Retail and Institutional Broker/Investment Banker for the last 10 years. Tom teamed up with Joey in 2008 at McAdams Wright Ragen and was instrumental in building their business to include making markets in over 700 banks, 400+ retail clients, 50+ institutional clients, and over $250 million in assets. He is a passionate analyst and investor in community banks. His research and analysis have been key to growing our assets and developing loyal clients. He has created an extensive database to analyze bank investment data and has a deep understanding of trade reporting and compliance. In addition, his ability to communicate with clients and build strong relationships has benefitted us tremendously.

Tom was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and currently resides in Beaverton. He is married to his wife, Charisse, with one daughter, Sienna, and two large huskies who keep him busy. He is very active and enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and nearly everything outdoors.

Tracy has worked in the securities industry for almost 30 years. She has extensive experience running brokerage operations. Tracy has worked with Joey since 1999 and has been instrumental in the growth and success of the market making/retail brokerage business. Tracy is an expert in all areas of operations, including new accounts, transfers, ACH, dividends, reorg, trade settlement and processing, DVP, Prime Brokerage, and physical certificate deposits. Tracy also has years of experience as a NASDAQ market maker and is a valuable member of our team.
